So far my college experience has been acceptable. The first 3 days of class have been fairly decent, the work keeps my interest so i'm able to work ahead. The classes are easier that i expect but i know they will get harder as time continues. In my English class we have already written our first essay and group participation in workshops. The overall experience was different than what i'm use too, the work shop went OK i just went we had spent more time on it, instead of going over time on the do's and dont's of editing. Im revising my paper by taking in my peers critic and suggestions into account when i re write my paper. While editing in when i use their changes, that they incorporated Another interesting part of the class are the reading assignments. I like the assignments because they provide insight and help with the next section in class that were focusing on. In the fall semester i expect so much more reading and i think in order to get everything i would have to divide my break time equally and when possible get ahead in some classes to make certain works loads lighter. So far i don't have any question just yet but i'b pretty sure down the road i will have plenty! :)
OK, just make sure to ask when you have questions! I know this is different than your high school experience and that we're moving fast, but you'll get the hang of it, and if you look at the schedule you'll see it's front-loaded, so we'll slow down a little now and have more work time in class. You're doing great.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I want to make sure to tell everyone...
Revision, when you break down the word, is re-vision, or re-seeing. You re-see your work and try as best you can to see it as a reader to try to figure out how to best appeal to your readers. That means looking at "big picture" stuff like content, organization, word choice, and style, the "meat" of your paper. When you edit, you're looking at the "skin," the grammar and punctuation, the "packaging." It's all important.
